# Crisis often leads to transformation
When things are going relatively smoothly, leaders don't seem interested in investing the time to think about the bigger picture and engage employees in large-scale change.
That seems to change when a crisis or emergency occurs. All of a sudden, leaders are willing to come together and disrupt normal processes to think outside the box and make transformational changes.
