#🌱 # Key to shifting culture is unsticking the leadership group ![[calendar-plus.svg]] Aug 14, 2022 | ![[calendar-clock.svg]] Jan 03, 2023 🏷️ [[coaching]], [[MOCs/Interests/Change|Change]] Often top leaders are resistant to change themselves because the status quo has led them to the top. They have influence, status, and power, so they don't *need* anything to change. Culture of the organization won't change if the leaders don't. ## How to get senior team on board? Mandating that senior leaders participate in training doesn't usually work. [[Michael Bungay Stanier]] and his Box of Crayons team take a more persuasive approach. - Give the top leaders a taste of one of the training modules, but frame it as driving client and new business engagement instead of being about managing people. - Module will be useful, provocative, and leave them wanting more. - Share that the leaders below them will receive the same training plus a lot more. - Create [[scarcity]] by offering full-length programs for the leadership team, but there's only space for 15% of them in the calendar year. ## Sources [[Michael Bungay Stanier]]
