# Unfreeze, Move, Refreeze

[[Kurt Lewin]] model describing change as a process of:
1. Unfreezing - current practices need to be released
2. Moving - change in practice
3. Refreezing - adopt and maintain new practices
Forces promoting change and forces promoting status quo (resisting change) work together to maintain [[homeostasis]]. Change only occurs when forces of change are greater than forces maintaining status quo. Lewin's [[force field analysis]] can be used as tool to increase change and reduce resistance.
