Categorizes six common problem areas in an organization and how symptoms can be seen through systems lens.
1. Purposes - goal clarity and goal agreement
2. Structure - does structure match needed outputs, is structure followed or undermined
3. Rewards - does reward system exist, does it produce results
4. Relationships - can people work interdependently and manage conflict
5. Helpful mechanisms - what mechanisms exist to facilitate work, how well do they meet objectives
6. Leadership - what are formal expectations and what norms do leaders informally model or communicate
