Collaborative messages during a conflict reflect high level of concern for everyone involved and the relationship.
**Analytic remarks**
- Descriptive statements that report on observable events without evaluation
- Disclosing statements, without evaluation. about conflict events that the other can't observe
- Qualifying statements that set the context and boundaries of the conflict
- Solicitation of disclosure that seeks, in non-hostile manner, information from the other that can't be observed, like thoughts, feelings, intentions, past history and motivation
- Solicitation of criticism that asks, in a non-hostile manner, for feedback or criticism of the self
**Concilliatory remarks**
- Supportive remarks that reflect positive affect, understanding, and acceptance for the other
- Concessions that signal flexibility, a willingness to change, and concern for reaching mutually acceptable solutions
- Acceptance of responsibility that attributes responsibility to one or both parties
