- First-person action research enables someone to critically explore their own purposes, mental models, behaviors and effects to create their own living theories and improve the quality of their practice. ([note on p.31](zotero://open-pdf/library/items/ADJRG6G2?page=31))
- First-person downstream research/practice involves personal self-observation of day-to-day behavior, being self-aware, and noticing the impact of one's actions in the wider world and how one's behaviors are or are not aligned with our espoused values. ([note on p.19](zotero://open-pdf/library/items/ADJRG6G2?page=19))
- It is very difficult to integrate inquiry and action in the present moment, so we can support and develop the capacity by reflecting on action afterwards. ([note on p.20](zotero://open-pdf/library/items/ADJRG6G2?page=20))
- can be enhanced by journal writing and reflection on audio- and videotapes of behavior. ([note on p.20](zotero://open-pdf/library/items/ADJRG6G2?page=20))
- First-person inquiry is best practiced in the company of peers. ([note on p.25](zotero://open-pdf/library/items/ADJRG6G2?page=25))
