Positive character traits, or virtues, contribute to ethical follow-through.

- [[prudence]] - helps people choose best course action
- [[integrity]] - encourages being true to oneself and one's choices
- [[humility]] - forces one to address one's limitations
- [[reverence]] - promotes self-sacrifice
- [[optimism]] - persist in the face of obstacles and difficulties
