# moral role models
Four-step process for moral role modeling:
1. We learn to conduct ourselves through the actions of significant others.
2. When the behavior of others is repeated often and is well-received by peers, we emulate these actions.
3. If and when our actions are reinforced by others, they become acquired characteristics or behavioral habits.
4. Individual following the role model reflects on and evaluates the moral action and intentionally chooses to adopt it. *([note on p.34](zotero://open-pdf/library/items/4FJQZ2R2?page=3))*
