When I started on my journey through the [[MA, ORGL]] program at Gonzaga I was looking for a better way to take notes and make connections between what I was learning in and out of class. As I explored different resources I stumbled into the world of [[personal knowledge management]] and [[digital garden|digital gardens]]. I built this site using [Obsidian Publish.](https://obsidian.md/publish) It's not a website, but a door into my vault of notes...or at least the ones I'm comfortable sharing. > [! note] Acknowledgement > Thanks to [Chad Bennett](https://mister-chad.com) for his help and for allowing me to use his CSS style sheet for the design and layout of my site. > The site will never truly be finished, because I am constantly developing existing notes, as well as adding new content. You'll come across some notes that are incomplete. Some links are placeholders for a note that hasn't been created yet, or one I've kept private. You can find a [[Changelog]] of recently added and updated pages in the menu on the left. ## How to navigate Since this isn't a website, there are no navigation menus and notes are not organized in any kind of hierarchical structure. Instead, the notes are interconnected through internal hyperlinks. You can jump in wherever you like and follow the links to whatever seems interesting. If a link has an arrow to the right of it, it's an external link to a website or article. At the bottom of each note is a list of notes that link to that particular page. You can use those to find your way back to the previous note, or to find another connected note. Don't forget, you can always use the forward and backward buttons in your browser to retrace your steps. If you get lost, just go back to the [[Welcome]] note or this [[Explore here]] note, which are at the top of the list in the left sidebar. >[!Book] **Folders** > The list on the left are folders that loosely organize notes by type. > ##### Atlas > - **MOCs** are [[Maps of Content]]. They are notes that serve as a kind of index for a particular topic or area of interest. You can use them as a jumping-off point to explore related notes. > - **Notes** is where most of the individual notes in this site are stored. > - ***Ideas*** - Notes containing a definition and thoughts about a term or concept, tools, or my thoughts or reflections on an idea. > - ***People*** - Notes about people (mostly authors). > - ***Sources*** - Notes I've taken on literature I've consumed - books, articles, videos, podcasts, etc. > - **Utilities** includes examples of templates I use for creating my notes in Obsidian. > ##### Efforts > These are notes on a few of the projects I'm willing to share information about. >[!Connect] **Graph** If your screen is wide enough, you should be able to see another sidebar on the right. At the top is a really cool graph that is a visual display of the relationship between the note you are currently reading and other notes linked to it. You can click on a node in the graph to navigate to that note. >[!Notes] **Outline** Also in the right sidebar is a Table of Contents, or outline, of the current note. You can use that to skip to different sections of the note. I hope you enjoy exploring my [[digital garden]]. [[Contact Me|Contact me]] if you have questions, thoughts or ideas you'd like to share.
